Valentine’s Day Fun- How to Build Language with Some Valentine’s Day Fun
Valentine’s Day Speech and Language Fun
There are lots of fun ways to sneak in some speech and language work during Valentine’s Day activities. You can work on building vocabulary, following directions and targeting specific speech sounds. Here are some fun activities we did in Speech this week.
We made some speech “love bugs” with students targeted sounds. We placed hearts in a mailbox to “mail” to our Valentine’s. All the students loved to match colors and shapes with my candy “chocolate” game. These Valentine’s Day activities let us target vocabulary (heart, mail, envelope, stamp, candy, etc), following directions (i.e. “Put a blue heart in the mailbox.”) and social language (“Who will you send a valentine?”).
